UNI-MIKE™ SERIES 117 INTERCHANGEABLE ANVIL TYPE 117-107 The MITUTOYO Uni-Mike has a vise-like special frame, which is designed to hold interchangeable anvils. Two anvils-Flat Anvil (No. 201216) and Rod Anvil (No. 201217)-are supplied with the Uni-Mike. Three other anvils are available to facilitate special measurements. Among the supplied anvils, the Rod Anvil with its .118” (3mm) diameter is useful in checking small tube thickness or checking the distance between a drilled hole to the edge of the workpiece. ANVIL ATTACHMENTS FOR OUTSIDE MICROMETERS To measure odd workpieces, several convenient anvil attachments are prepared by MITUTOYO. Among them the most often used one is the ball attachment. The ball attachment is a hardened steel ball with .250” diameter which is placed on the .315” diameter anvil by a rubber cap. With that attachment, micrometers with .315" anvils can measure cylindrical wall thickness, but, .250” must be subtracted from the readings. Other attachments show here are .500” in length. The added amount must be subtracted from the reading. As the above illustration indicates, a pair of attachments can be applied to 2” micrometers to measure 0-1” range. With special Disc Anvil 950758 (shown in photo), the Uni-Mike is used as a height micrometer. The disc has lapped, mirror surface. Without anvil and clamp, the Uni-Mike can mesure heights or steps to .0001” accuracy.
