DRILL GAGES (JOBBER, WIRE SIZES & LETTER SIZES) ● The sliding head may be adjusted to any position along the rule and locked by a thumb nut. ● The head is beveled to 59º (the correct drill point angle), and is also graduated in 32nds along the 59º face for measuring the drill lips which should be of equal lengths ● The hook rule has accurate, machine-divided graduations in 8ths, 16ths, quick-reading 32nds and 64ths ● Hook is adjustable and can be shortened or extended on either side of the rule, and may be removed if desired ● Tool can also be used as a Plain Rule, Hook Rule, Depth Gage, and Slide Caliper ● Drill gages are used to quickly and conveniently identify drill bit sizes. ● Made of heavy gage steel, machined and ground to close tolerances. ● Hole sizes and decimal equivalents are permanently etched on the face. Standard for grinding and setting tools when cutting Acme threads. Range from 1 to 10 threads per inch. Angles and edges of gage are hardened, ground and carefully tested. DRILL POINT GAGE 59º This gage was designed specifically for use in drill grinding. It provides a quick, accurate way for determining the correct drill point angle of 59º and the correct length of drill lips necessary for clean-cut drilling at maximum feeds and speeds. TAP AND DRILL GAGE Shows correct size tap drill for any National Coarse or Fine tap from #2-56NC to 1/4-28NF to produce 75% full thread. Gage also shows correct body size drill and provides 60 holes marked with number size and decimal equivalent of drills from No. 1 through No. 60. Hardened, ground, polished and tested for accuracy. 5/64” thick by 2.5/16” wide by 6.1/4” long. Has 20 leaves - nine with concave and convex radii from .020” to .100” by .010”, four with concave and convex radii from .125” to .200” by .025”, one with concave and convex radii of .250”, three with concave radii only from .300” to .400” by .050”, and three with convex radii only from .300” to .400” by .050”. WIRE GAGES STEEL WIRE GAGE For gaging steel wire and drill rod to the American Steel & Wire Company (Washburn & Moen) Standard and checks sizes from 0 to 36. (Also known as United States Steel Wire Gage). Decimal equivalents on back. Satin finish. Carefully tested for accuracy after hardening. Bodies made from steel tubing, knurled and nickel plated. Swivel knobs concaved to fit the finger and hexagonal to prevent rolling. Chucks are grooved to designate size of blade widths from .025” to .100”. Size F also available with blade for Phillips head screws. Blade can be reversed in body for carrying in pocket. ENGLISH STANDARD WIRE GAGE For gaging iron wire, hot and cold rolled sheet steel and in some cases sheet iron by the English Standard Wire system also known as Birmingham or Stubs. Satin finish. Tested after hardening. Works with flat straight edges, shoulders, grooves, round work, studs, dowels, or center points and scribed lines can be accurately located with this handy tool. Available in two sizes, No. 827A has .375” dia. body and .200” dia. contact; No. 827B has .500” dia. body and .200” dia. contact plus pointed contact at opposite end for locating center points and scribed lines. Body and contacts made of tool steel, hardened, ground and lapped to close tolerances for diameter and concentricity. This is a time saving accessory for 3/8” shank edge finders. It allows quick installation and removal of the edge finder, eliminating the need for collet changes on Bridgeports and similar machines. It can also be used with any other attachment with a 3/8” shank. The progressive steps are: 1/4”, 5/16”, 3/8”, 1/2”, 5/8”, 3/4” and 1”. Step depths vary from .100” to .200”.
